Oregon law (ORS 194.400) caps what a notary may charge for the notarial act itself and requires that fee list to be displayed in English. Everything below is disclosed and agreed to before any appointment is confirmed — nothing is added after the fact.
The fine print, plainly stated.
Oregon law requires every non‑attorney notary to make these disclosures. We’d want you to see them even if the law didn’t require it.
I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Oregon. I am not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters — including immigration — or charge a fee for those activities. If your document requires legal advice, please consult a licensed Oregon attorney before your appointment.
In many countries, a “notario público” is a licensed attorney with authority far beyond what a notary public holds in Oregon. This business does not use that term and does not hold attorney‑equivalent powers. Our authority is limited to that of an Oregon Notary Public under ORS Chapter 194 — verifying identity, witnessing signatures, and administering oaths.
An Oregon notary must act as a disinterested, impartial witness. We cannot notarize a document in which we have a financial interest, and we cannot notarize for a spouse. We may decline any notarization we believe to be fraudulent, incomplete, or improperly executed — this protects you as much as it protects us.
The $10.00 per‑act (or $25.00 RON) fee above is the maximum permitted by Oregon law and is charged for the notarial act only. Travel, printing, and convenience fees are not set by statute; they are disclosed and agreed to before any appointment is confirmed, in compliance with ORS 194.400(3).
